Andrew Haynes is Managing Partner responsible for transaction execution, legal, and compliance at Fifth Ocean Group. He has over 25 years of global M&A and legal experience across the oil and gas sector, with deep expertise in complex cross-border transactions.

Previously, Andrew served as Deputy General Counsel of BG Group, where he was responsible for M&A and treasury activities and played a central role in the development of Brazil’s pre-salt, including the Tupi and Sapinhoá fields. Prior to that, he was Associate General Counsel of BP, overseeing M&A, treasury and major joint ventures, and previously a Partner and Co-head of Norton Rose Fullbright’s Brazil practice.

Andrew is a Founding Partner of Angra Energy and has advised international energy, infrastructure, private equity and strategic clients across acquisitions, divestments, and strategic transactions. He has practiced law in London and Canada and is licensed in New York, England, and Canada.



He holds a BA from Austin McCombs School of Business.
