Armando Henriques is a Senior Operating Partner at Fifth Ocean Group, bringing decades of executive leadership across global energy, power, and infrastructure businesses. He has deep experience developing and scaling non-operated upstream strategies, particularly in Brazil’s pre-salt.


Previously, Armando served as President of BG Brasil, where he led the company’s non-operated pre-salt strategy and oversaw the development of Tupi and Sapinhoá fields, which ultimately represented a significant portion of the value underpinning Shell’s acquisition of BG Group. He also served as Chairman, President & CEO of Duke Energy International and as President of BG Argentina, Italy and Spain.


Armando currently holds board positions across major energy and infrastructure organizations in Brazil, including Grupo Energisa, ONS, and Ibitu Energia and has played an active role in the development of large-scale gas and pipeline infrastructure across Latin America and Europe. He is the founder of Angra Energy, serving as advisor to global midstream & private equity firms on acquisitions, divestments and developments.


He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Engineering Army Institute (IME) and an MBA from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in Brazil.
