Clayton Taylor is a Senior Advisor to Fifth Ocean Group with extensive experience across private equity, energy finance, and portfolio company leadership.

He previously served as Managing Director and Co-Head of Oil and Gas at EIG, where he joined in 2007, and served on multiple investment and advisory committees, including the General Partner Advisory Committee. Clayton has held board and advisory roles across EIG portfolio companies and most recently served as Senior Advisor to Maverick Natural Resources through its successful sale in 2025.



Earlier in his career, Clayton held senior roles at Wells Fargo Energy Capital and Bank of America’s Energy Finance Group.

He holds a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University and an MBA from University of Southern California.
